BI has initiated investigations into allegations of large scale manipulations and malpractices in NEET 2016 Exam & Counselling Procedure in Madhya Pradesh on lines of Vyapam scam. Noteworthy that MP Government had switched to NEET embarrassed over scam in the Vyapam.
Complainant – Ashish Chaturvedi – has been asked to produce documents at the earliest. In his complaint to the CBI director Chaturvedi had demanded investigations on an urgent basis on various grounds.
CBSE had displayed the OMR Sheets for candidates on website www.aipmt.nic.in from August 4 to 6 for verification which was removed before declaring the final result on August 16, 2016. This is highly suspicious,” said Chaturvedi.
OMR sheets were redisplayed by CBSE on August 24. This shows students who scored poor marks in their board examination had scored amazingly high marks in NEET 2016 examination,” he said. Many candidates who appeared NEET 2016 and subsequent counselling in Madhya Pradesh have used modus operandi of Vyapam Scam, he alleged.
Chaturvedi also claims that Madhya Pradesh director of medical education (DME) did not bother to cross match finger prints of candidates taken during CBSE entrance exam and the counselling session. “This was deliberately aided to pave way for select candidates. We have evidences that some of the candidates who appeared in NEET 2016 were already admitted in other medical colleges. This was done in Vyapam too,” he added.
He also claims that MP Counselling Committee had violated MCI admission rules for MBBS & BDS. He said the MP Online sever also hanged while thousands of students kept waiting for the counselling. The counselling had to be postponed on October 1 and was again resumed at October 4. Private and government medical colleges admitted students more than the sanctioned quota, according to the complaint.
I have been asked to submit corroboratory evidences in support of my complaint by the CBI,” he told TOI confirming that the agency has started looking into his complaint. Vyapam scam whistle-blower Dr Anand Rai too had been raising his objections on conducting exams through NEET.
