Information about MNIT Jaipur
The MNIT was established in 1963 with the name as Malaviya Regional Engineering College, Jaipur as a joint venture of the Government of India and the Government of Rajasthan, Subsequently; on June 26, 2002 the college has been given the status of National Institute of Technology and on 15 August 2007, Proclaimed Institute of National Importance through Act of Parliament. The Institute is fully funded by Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India. More than 12,000 students have already been graduated since its establishment.

One canteen near the instructional zone, another near the hostels and one Nescafe coffee shop provides refreshments to the students and the staff during and beyond the working hours.
There are two guest houses in the campus to cater the needs of guests and students.
Adequate facilities are available for sports and games and for co- curricular activities.
The campus is well laid out with roads, electrical installations, water supply and underground drainage system etc.
There is a branch of the ICICI Bank Ltd. and a branch of SBI Bank in the campus. Other reputed banks such as BOB, OBC, and PNB etc. are within walking distance from the institute campus.
Full-fledged Dispensary is available in the campus. It is supervised by a residential Medical Officer. The services of a part-time Homeopathy Doctor and a Lady Doctor are also available to students and to the family members of the staff.
Central Computer Centre :
The Central Computer Centre caters to the needs of different academic departments and various sections of the institute. The mission of Computer Centre at MNIT Jaipur is to create and maintain a computing environment for the pursuit of academic excellence. The ultimate aim of the centre is to provide professional services, promote and assist the use of new computing technology among the students, staff and administration. Computer Centre manages various computing and communication facilities throughout the campus.

The Institute has a spacious and well equipped library which is being run according to an open access system. It has rich collection of about 1,33,600 volumes of books, periodicals, reports and reference material. In addition to the books from main library, some more books are issued to students from book bank also. To the students belonging to weaker section(SC/ST) some additional books are given from the Book Bank. Xeroxing facility is available to the users at very nominal rate. There is a video viewing facility. Large number of books, periodicals, video cassettes and CD-ROMs are available. The library is being fully computerized. The CDNET facilities are to be developed very soon. Library has procured LIBSYS Software(Multi-user) and started the computerization of in house data.

15847 sq m (space per student – 7.5 sq m) The glazing work (Glass Partitions) for air conditioning of the library has been done. Library has ten stack halls for books, periodicals (current and bound volumes), video cassettes, Reference Section and book bank.

The Annual Athletic meet 2012-13 will be organized on the day of Youth
Festival of India to commemorate Swami Vivekananda’s birthday on January 12, it is celebrated as National Youth Day and the week commencing from that day is known as the National Youth Week. Under the eminent leadership of our honorable director Prof I.K.Bhat the Annual athletic meet aims to propagate the concept of national integration, spirit of communal harmony, brotherhood, courage and adventure amongst the youth by exhibiting their physical & cultural prowess in the play field.
