**General analysis of paper:**

JEE (Main) Exam 2016 had two parts (Paper 1 and Paper 2). Paper 1 was for students applying for engineering seats in engineering colleges, while paper 2 was for students applying for B. Arch degrees.

The 3 sections on Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics had 30 questions each, with four marks for right answer and for each in-correct response, one-fourth of the total marks allotted to the question would be deducted from the total score.

Paper was balanced and set from CBSE syllabus of Class XI and XII. The questions were distributed unevenly, as maximum having conceptual understanding, while few required analytical skills.

During exam time two most important factors are speed and accuracy. Remember that high speed with less accuracy is the most dangerous thing. Both these factors are equally important.

The students need to approach every set of problems differently and with separate methodologies. Attempting the paper in haste can lead to poor results, as much as, spending too much time on a question can.

**Select your questions wisely:**

Don’t panic while solving your paper, first filter out all easy and average problems and answer them.

**Don’t refer too many books for theory:**

Students have habit to refer many books to learn same thing, which causes waste of valuable preparation time. Refer to some standard books and once concepts are clear in your mind, start to practice problems based on that concept.
