I had a doubt in my mind after the class but I could not ask it to my teacher. I kept wondering why and a lot of things came to my mind. I was afraid of being looked down by my classmates, I was afraid that they might think I wanted to attract my teacher’s attention, I feared that the teacher would think that it is an irrelevant question, I was worried about my image amongst my friends or may be because I was not confident enough.
Is this your story?
You may think that it is okay if you didn’t ask as you can always Google it or that it’s not going to come in the examination and can be left unanswered, you might think that there is no harm in it that you dint ask. But actually it is harming you! This hesitation will affect your confidence in the long run, your ability to express yourself, your ability to think out of the box, your ability to answer. But don’t worry this problem can easily be rectified. It just needs a little effort from your end.
There are a couple of things that can help you to overcome this hesitation. Join some professional development classes, be with the student who asks a lot & does not hesitate; imbibe these qualities from him, start asking questions in small groups so that you get the feeling of raising questions in front of a group or start asking doubts from your favorite teacher, discuss various topics in a group, and most importantly read more; gain more knowledge as that will increase your confidence to another level.
Keep in mind that the hesitation is always for the first question and not after that.410 Views
