  • Score in the Aptitude test, followed by
  • Score in Drawing Test/ Planning-based questions, followed by
  • Candidates have a lesser ratio of negative to positive responses.

For JEE Main Paper 2 Tie-breaking criteria 2024, the NTA officials have re-introduced the age criteria to resolve ties between two candidates. The tie between two candidates obtaining the same marks in JEE Main 2024 will be resolved as per the below order:

  • Marks obtained by the candidates in the Aptitude test, followed by
  • Marks obtained by the candidates in Drawing Test/ Planning-based questions, followed by
  • Candidate with less proportion of a number of attempted incorrect answers and correct answers in all the subjects in the test, followed by
  • Candidate with less proportion of a number of attempted incorrect answers and correct answers in the Mathematics section, followed by
  • Candidate with less proportion of a number of attempted incorrect answers and correct answers in the Aptitude test, followed by
  • Candidate with less proportion of a number of attempted incorrect answers and correct answers in Planning-based questions (this criterion is only applicable for B. Planning aspirants), followed by
  • Older candidates, followed by application number in ascending order

Note: In B.Arch and B.Planning, 20 questions will be MCQs, and 5 numerical value questions will have to be answered out of 10. There will also be a negative marking of 1 mark for numerical value questions.
