A better way to conserve water is, to water the plants in our kitchen garden/farm or in the pots at home in the evening during summer days and in the morning during winter days.

Think of the reason for this practice and record its advantages.

(Hint: Water evaporates faster from the soil in the hot sun during the day; during winter, plants full of water may get frostbite during the night.)

During summer, the rate of evaporation will be more during the day because the heat of the sun is more during the daytime. As a result, more water is needed by the plants to absorb. This causes more wastage of water. Therefore, it is good to water the plants in our kitchen or in the pots at home in the evening during summer.

Similarly, watering early in the day during the winter season provides the plants with moisture for vigorous growth during the day and prevents heat stress coming from the sun.
