The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) has issued the PO notification and will conduct the IBPS PO 2023 exam to recruit eligible candidates for the position of Probationary Officers (PO) in various public sector banks in India. IBPS PO Prelims Eligibility Criteria 2022

A candidate who wishes to take the upcoming IBPS PO Recruitment exam should ensure that they meet the following eligibility requirements:

IBPS PO Nationality 

A candidate must be either –

  1. A citizen of India or
  2. A subject of Nepal or
  3. A subject of Bhutan or
  4. A Tibetan Refugee who came over to India before 1st January 1962 to permanently settle in India or
  5. A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, and Vietnam intending to settle in India permanently.

Note:Candidates in categories 2, 3, and 4 must have a certificate of eligibility issued by the Government of India in their favour.

IBPS PO Age Limit (as of August 01, 2022)

IBPS PO Education Qualification (as on August 22, 2022)

The candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree (Graduation) in any discipline from a recognised university or an equivalent qualification recognised by the government. They must have a valid mark sheet or degree certificate to register and declare their graduation grades on the application form.

IBPS PO Computer Literacy

Working knowledge of computer systems is required for the job, as well as to attempt the IBPS PO exam.

IBPS PO Prelims Number of Attempts

There is no restriction on the number of attempts for the Bank PO Exam, which means candidates can attempt the exam as many times as they want, provided that they meet the required IBPS PO eligibility criteria.

IBPS PO Selection Process

The IBPS PO exam is a three-tier exam, i.e. the selection of Probationary Officers (PO) is conducted in three stages:

  • First Stage: IBPS PO Preliminary Exam
  • Second Stage: IBPS PO Mains Exam
  • Third Stage: Personal Interview

Note – The Prelims and the Mains tests will be held online. However, the personal interview will be held in person.
