RRB NTPC CBT 2: The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has declared the results for the CBT 2 examination for multiple regions. The results are available on the official website in PDF form, which shows the Roll Numbers of candidates who have cleared the RRB NTPC CBT 2 examination.

The RRB had conducted the examination for Pay Level on May 4, 6, 9 and 10, 2022, and more than 7 lakh candidates had applied for the examination. Exam Summary

Candidates for the NTPC exam must pass three stages: the first stage CBT – Prelims, the second stage CBT – Mains, and the typing test/computer-based aptitude test (skill test). Candidates who pass these three rounds must also pass the Document Verification and Medical Exam to advance to the final selection. For the RRB advertisement 2022, RRB NTPC CBT-2 Exam was conducted in 156 centres across 25 states on May 9 and 10, 2022. The results for RRB NTPC CBT-2 have been announced for multiple regions, while the results for a few other regions are expected shortly. Along with the result, the RRB has released the cut-off and marks for the NTPC exam.

March 30, 2022: The result, cut-off mark, and answer key for RRB NTPC CBT-1 have been released.

January 19, 2022: The RRB has now revised the NTPC vacancies from 35,277 to 35,281. The revision has been exercised in the ExSM vacancies, while PwBD vacancies have been reduced to zero, due to unsuitability.

Applicants who appeared for the RRB NTPC CBT-1 Exam for CEN No. 2019 between December 28, 2020, and July 31, 2021, are eligible for a reimbursement of their examination fee (less banking/services charges). Candidates are required to update their bank account information, like the IFSC Code, Bank Account Number and Name, using the "Update Bank Account link". This link is available on the official website.

As a result, starting August 11, 2021, RRB has provided the link to update bank account details (https://rrbntpc.onlinereg.in/) on the official websites. The deadline for submitting bank information was August 31, 2021. (23:59 hrs). All candidates who have not submitted their bank information for a refund will be disqualified. It is strongly recommended that you enter your bank details on the website mentioned above by September 7, 2021. There will be no more extensions of time or links in the future. Furthermore, RRBs will no longer accept correspondence in the future in this regard.

Selection Process

The selection process will consist of four phases:

  • RRB NTPC CBT-1 exam
  • RRB NTPC CBT-2 exam
  • Typing skill test/Computer-based aptitude test
  • Document verification and medical test

Candidates who pass all four phases of the screening process will be considered for various positions advertised in the Railway Recruitment Board NTPC 2022 announcement.

Stages of Exam

The RRB NTPC recruitment process will consist of four phases:

  • RRB NTPC CBT-1 exam
  • RRB NTPC CBT-2 exam
  • Typing skill test/Computer-based aptitude test
  • Document verification and medical test

Because of the COVID-19 situation, the RRB NTPC CBT 1 was completed in seven (7) phases as given below:

1st phase December 28, 2020, to January 13, 2021
2nd Phase January 16 to January 30, 2021
3rd Phase January 31 to February 12, 2021
4th Phase February 15 to March 3, 2021
5th Phase March 4 to 27, 2021
6th Phase April 1 to 8, 2021
7th Phase July 23 to 31, 2021
NTPC CBT-1 results are expected to be available by September 2021. Once the results are out, the notification for the RRB NTPC CBT-2 exam will come out. Only then we shall be able to know the number of stages of the RRB NTPC CBT-2 Exam. The 1st stage of CBT is a screening test, and the quality of the questions will generally be in line with the educational requirements for the positions. The total number of shortlisted candidates is 20 times the number of job vacancies community-wise notified against the RRB, based on the first stage CBT performance level and post choice.
The normalised score for 1st stage CBT will be used to shortlist candidates for the 2nd stage CBT based on their merit. Candidates who are shortlisted for the 2nd stage CBT and use the OBC(NCL)/SC/ST/EWS, PwBD and ExSM reservation benefits will be considered only for OBC(NCL)/SC/ST/EWS, PwBD, and ExSM in all following phases of the recruitment process. For each level of post, the level of questions will be different. It will be done to normalise the grades.

Computer-based Aptitude Test (CBAT) for RRB NTPC CBT 2

(Note: Only for candidates who have selected Traffic Assistant and Station Master as a career option).
Candidates must get a minimum score of 42 on each of the tests to be considered qualified. This applies to all candidates, regardless of community or category, and no exceptions to the minimum T-Score are allowed. Candidates must pass each of the CBAT test batteries in order to be considered for the position of SM/TA. Only English and Hindi will be available for questions and answers on the CBAT. In CBAT, there will be no negative marking. Only applicants who pass the CBAT will be placed on a merit list, with the marks earned in the 2nd stage CBT receiving 70% of the weightage and the marks received in the CBAT receiving 30% of the weightage.

Each correct answer will earn the candidate a +1 mark, each unattempted question will carry a 0 mark, and each incorrect answer attempted by a candidate will have a -⅓
(negative) mark.

Candidates will have 1.5 hours to complete the paper (90 minutes). PWD candidates will have 120 minutes to complete the exam.

Application Form Filling - Start & End Date

The application form filling date for the RRB NTPC 2022 exam started on March 01, 2019. The online application form remained open until March 31, 2019. Candidates who have not applied for the exam in that time frame are not eligible to apply for the selection process.

The RRB NTPC CBT-2 Exam 2022 admit card date has been released by the Railway Recruitment Board. The date for admit card release has been scheduled for June 2022 right before the exam.

About Exam

Dos and Donts of Form Filling

  1. Candidates should check that they fulfil all eligibility criteria prescribed for the post(s) as on the closing date of online registration, i.e. as of March 31, 2019. Candidates waiting for the final results of the specified educational qualification should not apply.
  2. Candidates are advised to read all the instructions and information thoroughly in the CEN available on the websites of RRBs before filling out the online application.
  3. Application is to be submitted on the official websites of the RRBs only and not on any fake websites and job racketeers.
  4. Candidates should possess their own mobile number, and a valid own email id and keep them active for the entire duration of recruitment. This is because the RRBs shall send all recruitment related communications only through SMS and email till the recruitment process is over. Requests for a change of mobile number and email address will not be permitted at any stage.
  5. Applications are to be submitted through the RRB websites online only. Only one application is to be submitted to the selected RRB for all its notified posts. Application to more than one RRB will be rejected.
  6. Candidates should go through the Post Parameter Table and Vacancy Table and ensure their eligibility. Only after that, the candidates should put options for the RRBs and post(s) within the chosen RRB as per their eligibility. The selection of RRB, once exercised, will not be allowed to be changed.
  7. The eligibility of the candidates will be decided based on the information provided by them in the online application. Candidates need not send printouts of applications or certificates or copies by post to the RRBs. If it is found that the information furnished by the candidate in his/her application is not correct at any stage of recruitment or thereafter, or the candidate has suppressed any relevant information, or the candidate does not meet the eligibility criteria for the post(s), his/her application candidature will be cancelled. Candidates can modify the details provided in the application except the RRB chosen, email ID and mobile number, even after submission of the application. But it has to be done within the last date of submission of the application. A modification fee has to be paid for this. However, after the last date for submission of the application RRB shall not entertain any modification of the information provided in the application.
  8. Candidates must ensure that they fulfil the specified Medical Standards for the post(s) they are applying for. Note that in case the candidate is found to be medically unsuitable for the specified post at the time of appointment, the candidate will not be considered for an alternate appointment.
  9. Allocation of examination centres/cities for CBTs will depend upon technical and logistical feasibility. It may be necessary for candidates to travel to other cities/states for attending CBTs. No request for a change of exam centre shall be allowed in any circumstances.
  10. Candidates are advised to register and submit online applications much before the closing date to avoid the last-minute rush. RRBs will not accept any responsibility for the candidates not being able to register and/or submit their online application within the last day on account of a last-minute rush or any other reason.

Candidates belonging to minority communities like Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, Buddhists, Jains and Zoroastrians (Parsis) etc, who wish to avail a waiver of examination fee will be required to furnish Minority Community Declaration affidavit on non-judicial stamp paper at the time of document verification mentioning that they belong to any of the above minority communities. Otherwise, their application will not be considered.
  4. Economically Backward Class (EBC) candidates must produce a valid income certificate on the date of application in the format prescribed or on the letterhead of the issuing authority to this effect before filling in the application and submit the same at the time of document verification.
  5. The examination fee once paid will not be refunded even if the application remains incomplete or is rejected.

Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has released the necessary eligibility criteria for RRB Non-Technical Popular Categories along with the awaited notification. Candidates are advised to go through the eligibility criteria thoroughly in order to fill out the application form and avoid rejection at later stages. The eligibility criteria will be based on the following requirements– Nationality, Educational Qualification and Age.


A candidate must be either:

  1. A legal citizen of India, or
  2. A subject of Nepal, or
  3. A subject of Bhutan, or
  4. A refugee from Tibet who came over to India before January 1, 1962, intending to settle in India permanently, or
  5. A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Burma, East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zaire, Ethiopia, Zambia, Malawi, and Vietnam to settle in India permanently.
  6. Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (2), (3), (4) and (5) above shall be a person in whose favour an eligibility certificate has been issued by the Government of India. A candidate for whom a certificate of eligibility is necessary may be admitted to the examination, but the offer of appointment may be given only after the required eligibility certificate has been duly issued to him by the Government of India.

Candidates who have passed class 12th or an undergraduate examination in any stream are eligible to apply for the exam.

Number of Attempts

There is no restriction on the number of attempts for the examination. A candidate can compete any number of times as long as the age limit permits.

Language Proficiency

Hindi, English, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Konkani, Marathi, Manipuri, Malayalam, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu will be used in the RRB NTPC Computer Based Tests.
