CLAT 2023 Preparation Tips

Exam counselling

CLAT 2023 will analyse applicants’ aptitude, time management abilities, analytical thinking, and logical reasoning. Studying effectively for an exam that attracts fierce competition is critical. So, we are providing these preparation tips for CLAT 2023 in this section. We have prepared this study plan keeping in mind the numerous challenges the students frequently encounter while preparing for the exam.

Preparation Tips for CLAT - General Knowledge

  • The GK portion is analytical, requiring a deep dig into the details of the news. Aspirants at NLU are now expected to be strong readers and thinkers. Earlier, you could just read a piece of news, jot down some static worries, review, and sit for the exam. Simply reading about national and international events is not enough for CLAT.
  • Now, the GK component of CLAT is analytical rather than factual. Only someone well-read and had done in-depth research on the year’s most important issues could have come up with the correct answers. So, you’ll have to scrutinise each news item to prepare general knowledge for CLAT. You must write down its advantages and disadvantages, historical significance, future cause and effect, all of the highlights, and possible solutions. This is one of the most crucial CLAT preparation tips because the consortium will continue to ask more and more analytical questions in the future.
  • Several internet resources can be used to prepare the current affairs portion. You can read daily current affairs for law entrance exams, which will help you cover all of the essential current events in a thorough manner.

Preparation Tips for CLAT – Legal Reasoning

  • All candidates appearing in CLAT 2023 are recommended to keep a regular watch on all the newest legal occurrences, major judgements, and so on. Newspapers and good legal blogs are particularly useful for preparation and will help you improve your reading speed. In addition, while studying for CLAT, some basic principles from Contract Law, Constitutional Law, and other areas must be grasped well in advance.
  • Also, for legal reasoning questions, we recommend that you solve the previous year’s exam papers because questions are frequently repeated. Solving prior year’s questions will help students comprehend the types of problems asked on these tests.
  • You can also consult internet resources for legal maxims and terminology, which will be enough for CLAT preparation.
  • The majority of the queries focused on current events. Ex-post-facto law, obscenity, and other concerns are covered in the static section. As a result, pay extra attention to these topics.

Preparation Tips for CLAT – Quantitative Aptitude

  • If you have a strong understanding of the Ratio & Proportion idea, Area & Volume concept, basic geometrical figures, and their formulas, you can easily tackle all problems in the quantitative technique part. Basic unit conversions, such as feet to inches, should also be understood so all questions in the Quantitative Aptitude portion can be solved.
  • The candidate should go through the full CLAT syllabus at least once. After that, continue practising questions using CLAT mocks or other standard material.
  • Examine CLAT previous year’s question papers because they will help you understand what is asked in the exam and also assist you in revising the syllabus.
  • Practising questions will also help you comprehend the subjects better. Understanding the topics would surely help you get a better result on your exam. If you practise the questions, the unit conversion will be easier to recall. It will also help you improve your accuracy and speed.

Preparation Tips for CLAT – Logical Reasoning

  • The articles for the CLAT Logical Reasoning part are mostly taken from national dailies such as Indian Express, The Hindu, and Times of India. This is also a scoring segment for candidates. It is similar to English because the part centres on the reading skills of the student.
  • The questions are a little difficult to comprehend as they are meant to test the analytical abilities of the students. So, candidates must work on their reading and comprehension skills to score good marks in this section.

Preparation Tips for CLAT – English

  • It will help if you read a newspaper daily, as the new exam format is primarily comprehension-based. This can help you improve your comprehension skills and allow you to complete the exam more quickly and fully. The Hindu is the newspaper of choice.
  • Read as much as you can from the opinion and editorial sections of newspapers.
  • To prepare for CLAT, any book with a sufficient number of RCs will suffice.
  • To succeed in this part, work on your reading speed and grammar.
