CBSE Class 10 Detailed Study Plan

Students preparing for the CBSE Board Class 10 exams should refer to the CBSE preparation tips to ace their exams:

  • Going Through the Syllabus: This is the very first and most crucial CBSE Board Class 10 exam preparation tip. The most critical aspect of any exam preparation is knowing the curriculum. So, first and foremost, look over the curriculum thoroughly.

They should decide the topics they need to study and rank them in order of importance. As a result, they will have a better sense of how to begin the research and what themes are vital to cover and other important details. They also should look at the CBSE Board Class 10 exam pattern to see how each topic is weighted and plan accordingly.
  • Make a Study Schedule: The next CBSE Class 10 exam preparation advice is to make a study schedule and stick to it in order to study systematically. When planning your study routine, you should allocate time to all subjects in a shuffled manner.

Make time for hobbies and interests to keep the mind active. Examine the CBSE Board Class 10 exam timetable and create a schedule covering the full syllabus at least two months before the exams. Then begin revising to remember the subjects.
  • Refer to the Prescribed Reference Books: You should try and grasp all of the themes from the recommended books once you've identified the topics to study. These books contain information on all themes in an easy-to-understand format. The best way to prepare for the Class 10 examinations is to use NCERT books. After finishing the specified volumes, you can move on to other reference books to practice with extra questions on specific topics.
  • Maintain a Separate Notebook for Each Subject: Maintaining a separate notebook for each subject is a smart practice to get into because it allows you to jot down essential points, chapter summaries, and your own responses to questions. These notebooks are really useful for revising and improving your CBSE Board Class 10 exam grades.
  • Clear All Doubts: "A little knowledge is a hazardous thing," as the adage goes. So, if you have any doubts about a topic, have them cleared and understand the principles. Keeping the doubts as they are could lead to a misunderstanding. To clear your doubts, you might speak with your subject professors, seniors, or peers.
  • Maintain a Healthy Lifestyle and a Positive Outlook:
    • A popular and accurate adage goes, "A healthy mind dwells in a healthy body." So keep yourself in shape.
    • Maintain a healthy and well-balanced diet.
    • Stay hydrated by drinking water while studying.
    • Keep your mind and body in shape by doing some gentle workouts.
    • Take an early stroll to clear your head.

Today, competitive exams form the core of our education system. While many students or parents think that competitive exams are conducted only for class 12 students, that's not true. Even for Class 10 students, there are several competitive exams and scholarship programs.

These competitive exams are conducted to check a student's mental ability and intelligence quotient and grant scholarships to those who crack the exams. So, to benefit, every student and their parents must become aware of such competitive exams since awareness is the first step towards preparation.

A national-level examination programme (NTSE) is a competitive exam meant for school students. NTSE's aims are to identify students with exceptional academic talent and intellectual ability. Students are tested on the NCERT syllabus, which includes Science, Math, Social Science, and Mental Ability.

The students who qualify for this two-tier exam receive a cash scholarship for the entire academic year. The examination consists of two tests: the Mental Ability Test (MAT) and the Scholastic Ability Test (SAT).

Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT)

The SAT is the standard testing exam. It is conducted by the College Board Organisation in the United States. It is for students who wish to study abroad. The SAT is required by almost all foreign institutes as qualifying criteria. The test focuses on testing the student on three basic criteria:

  • Writing ability is tested on the basis of essays and English grammar.
  • Critical Reading is tested by evaluating performance on the comprehension of passages.
  • Mathematics skills

Any student that wishes to study in a foreign country is required to take this test. More and more Indian universities have also begun to accept the scores of the SAT instead of their entrance exams.
