September 26, 2023Every year, the Reserve Bank of India conducts the RBI Assistant Mains Exam to recruit suitable candidates for Assistant positions in various RBI branches across India. The official notification for RBI Assistant Recruitment 2023 will be tentatively available on rbi.org.in in December 2022. However, the application process will start after the official notification is issued.

The RBI Assistant Eligibility necessitates the fulfilment of the following criteria in order to be considered for the position in the RBI Assistant Recruitment Process:
A candidate must be:
(a) a citizen of India or
(b) a subject of Nepal, or
(c) a subject of Bhutan, or
(d) a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
(e) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.
Candidates applying for the RBI Assistant position must be between 20 to 28 years old.
The RBI has granted some age relaxation to candidates planning to apply for the position of Assistant in the following categories:

The minimum educational qualification needed to appear for the Mains examination is a Bachelor’s degree from a University recognised by the Government with at least 50% of the marks (pass class for SC/ST/PwD candidates). Good knowledge of computers and word processing is required.
A candidate can appear for the RBI Assistant as long as they satisfy the age criteria. However, those who pass the Prelims exam can only appear for the Mains exam.
Candidates who will be provisionally selected from the main online examination will be required to take a language proficiency test (LPT). The LPT is used to determine whether an applicant can read, write, or speak the respective state/ UT local language or not. Those who do not speak the local language will not be considered for the RBI Assistant position.
