About Exam

The Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) has announced the VITEEE exam dates for 2022. The VITEEE registration 2022 started, and interested candidates could register before June 15, 2022. Earlier, the last date for submission of online application forms was May 30, 2022. The VITEEE exam 2022 was conducted from June 30 to July 6, 2022, via a computer-based test (CBT). After the final submission and verification of applications, candidates were able to book exam slots from the official website. Application Form Filling - Start and End Date

The authorities made the forms for VITEEE registration 2022 available from December 2, 2021. The last date to submit the application form for the VITEEE exam 2022 is extended to June 15, 2022.

The Vellore Institute of Technology, formerly called the Vellore Engineering College, is one of the best and most popular private institutes for engineering across the country. For two consecutive years, VIT has been declared the best private engineering college in India by the Ministry of Human Resources and Development. VITEEE 2022 Application Process

Candidates have to register on the official website of VIT before applying for the VITEEE 2022. VITEEE 2022 application form has been given in this section.

VITEEE 2022 Registration

Candidates can follow the steps mentioned below for registering themselves on the VIT website successfully:

  • 1st Step: Visit the official VIT website - viteee.vit.ac.in.
  • 2nd Step: They can go to the registration window and enter the basic details.
  • 3rd Step: Once they click the ‘register’ button, they will receive the user ID and password to their email ID.
  • 4th Step: Candidates can now log in with their credentials and proceed to fill out the application form.

Steps to fill out the online application form for VITEEE 2022

There are mainly five steps to fill the VITEEE 2022 application form through online mode. Applicants willing to register online for VITEEE 2022 can refer to the points below:

Steps Details
1st Step: Registration At the beginning of the VITEEE 2022 application form, the applicant has to register himself/herself by providing all the relevant and required details on the website (www.vit.ac.in). After this, the applicant will receive a password on their registered email ID and phone number. Furthermore, all the communication regarding the exam will be sent to the applicant on the same email ID and phone number. Hereafter, any request for a change in email ID/phone number/correspondence address will not be entertained under any circumstances.
2nd Step: Confirmation of password In this step, the applicant/candidate has to log in to ‘Registered users’ with their email ID and the password that they have received from the main university on their registered email ID and phone number.
3rd Step: Filling out the application form In this step, the candidate has to enter all the relevant details carefully before submitting the VITEEE application form. After this, an application number will be generated for the candidates. Candidates are supposed to refer to this application number for all future correspondences.
4th Step: Photo and signature upload In this step, candidates have to upload their most recently scanned photograph and signature as per the specifications mentioned by the authorities.

5th Step: Payment In the last step of the application form, the candidate must pay the application fees via Techprocess Payment Gateway or via net banking/credit/debit card. For general candidates, the application fee is Rs. 1150/- (inclusive of GST). NRI students have to pay USD 50 online using a credit card.

Steps to fill the offline application form for VITEEE 2022

The Vellore Institute of Technology, which is the exam conducting authority for VITEEE 2022, will also release the offline application form. Candidates can submit the duly-filled application form at the designated exam centres.

The steps to fill out the offline application form for VITEEE 2022 are given below:

1st Step: Issue of application forms - OMR (Optical Mark Reader) The application form, a printed self-addressed envelope, the prospectus, and the information brochure for the B.Tech programme can be obtained against cash payment from the post offices as given on the VIT website.
2nd Step: Completing the OMR sheet Candidates are supposed to fill the information in the application carefully in their own handwriting.
They should fill out the form in English only.
Before filling out the form, read the instructions carefully given in the brochure.
Any request for correction in the entered data will not be entertained under any circumstances.
The candidate should make a photocopy/xerox of the form and use it for practice.
Only the original OMR form should be sent. The candidate should note down the 10-digit application number for future reference.
3rd Step: Returning the completed OMR application form The completed VITEEE 2022 application form should be inserted in the envelope provided.
It needs to be sent either by registered post or speed post in the self-addressed envelope provided by VIT.
Before dispatching the application form, candidates should ensure that they have filled in the correct test city code, subject, and tick the checklist on the envelope provided.
The application form, once sold, will not be taken back under any circumstances nor will the application fee be refunded in any case, so candidates must enter all the details properly.
4th Step: Receipt of completed OMR application form The candidate should check the last date for receipt of the OMR completed application form on the VIT website.
Any application received after the last date will not be accepted by the institute.
VIT will not be responsible for any postal delay, irregularity, or loss in postal transit.
The candidate should not enclose any document with the application form.
If the candidate is applying online, then he/she is not supposed to send the application through post.

VITEEE 2022 Eligibility Criteria

Study Plan to Maximise Score

Applicants who wish to appear for the VITEEE exam 2022 must check if they fulfil the VITEEE eligibility criteria announced by the Vellore Institute of Technology.

Education Qualification

Applicants appearing for the VITEEE exam 2022 should have studied under regular, full-time, and formal education boards to be eligible. Refer to the points below for more details:

  • The final examination of the 10+2 system of Higher Secondary Examination should be administered by the State Board, CBSE, or ICSE (New Delhi).
  • Intermediate or two-year pre-university examination held by a recognised board or university. 
  • High School Certificate Examination of the Cambridge University or International Baccalaureate Diploma of the International Baccalaureate Office, Geneva. 
  • General Certificate Education (GCE) examination (London/Cambridge/Sri Lanka) at the Advanced (A) level. 
  • Regular ‘NIOS’ board applicants are also eligible to appear for VITEEE as per VIT rules. However, they need to produce the 'Migration-Cum-Transfer Certificate' at the time of joining.

Eligibility Criteria for the Qualifying Examination

Please find the details on the eligibility criteria for the qualifying exam below:

  • Applicants willing to apply for VITEEE 2022 should have achieved a minimum of 60% in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Biology in the qualifying examination.
  • For applicants belonging to the SC/ST category or from Jammu and Kashmir/ Ladakh and the North-Eastern states of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura, the average score in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Biology in the qualifying examination should be an aggregate of 50%.
  • A nativity certificate must be produced at the time of VIT counselling process. Applicants who fail to submit the certificate will not be considered for admission. 
  • If candidates do not produce the mark statement at the time of admission, the management's decision regarding their eligibility and admission to the programme shall be final.

VITEEE Exam 2022 Admit Card Release Date

The officials released the VITEEE admit card 2022 on June 20, 2022. The applicants were able to download the VITEEE 2022 hall ticket after booking the exam slots. Slot booking is essential or else the candidates will not be allowed to appear for the exam. The admit card contains all the important information about the candidates. Candidates must carry their hall tickets to the examination halls to appear for the exams.

The other important details that appear on the admit card are covered in the next section of this article. Candidates will not be permitted to appear for the exam without a valid VITEEE admit card. Therefore, booking a slot and generating the admit card is recommended.

Steps to Download the VITEEE Admit Card 2022

VITEEE 2022 admit cards are released on the official website. Candidates must follow the simple steps given below to download the e-admit card for the VITEEE exam 2022:

  • Visit the official website.
  • Select ‘VITEEE Admit Card 2022’. It will redirect candidates to a new page where the online slot booking system will begin for them. 
  • Enter the application number and password and enter the captcha. 
  • Log in and click on 'Book a seat'. 
  • Book the examination centre and time as per preference.
  • Confirm the booking and click on 'Submit'. 
  • Candidates can download the VITEEE 2022 admit card after confirming the slot.
  • Lastly, save and take a print-out.

VITEEE 2022 Exam Syllabus

About Exam

Candidates appearing for the VITEEE exam 2022 should know the exam syllabus for cracking the exam on the first attempt. The syllabus is similar to Classes 11 and 12 (PCMB) of CBSE and Tamil Nadu State Board of Higher Secondary Examinations. The syllabus for VITEEE 2022 is out on the official website, and students can refer to the same.

The students can understand the topic coverage from the syllabus. The question paper will be set from the prescribed syllabus only, and VIT releases the extensive details every year before the examination. Dos for the VITEEE 2022

The list of dos is given below:

  • The time and venue are mentioned on the admit card. Be on time or a little earlier for the examination.
  • Candidates should register their names on the registration counter. They should not forget to carry their admit card and valid ID proof for verification.
  • Look for their allotted seat and sit only on that seat. 
  • Maintain absolute silence and concentrate on their exam process only.
  • Do not forget to sign the attendance sheet provided by the invigilator in his/her presence.

Don'ts for the VITEEE 2022

The list of don'ts is given below:

  • Candidates will not be permitted to carry any text material, printed or written, pieces of paper or any other material except the admit card inside the test hall. 
  • Candidates are not allowed to carry any electronic devices such as mobile phones, paging devices, calculators, spy cameras, blue-tooth devices, and music systems.
  • Candidates cannot go outside the test hall before completing the entire duration of the exam time.
  • Eating or drinking is absolutely prohibited inside the test hall. Only a plain water bottle with no words or print on it is allowed. 
  • Violating any instruction given by the authorities and adopting unfair means in the examination hall will make the candidate incompetent for the VIT admission procedure. 
  • Any crime or impersonation will be reported to the police.

VIT admission process 2022 will depend on the VITEEE scores of the candidates for this year’s session. Candidates who clear the exam will be called for the counselling process. Exam Pattern Details - Scoring Pattern (+/- Marking)

The VITEEE exam paper 2022 comprises five sections, including the recently added Aptitude section having three questions. Candidates can choose between Mathematics and Biology according to their interests. Candidates have to mention the subjects during the application form filling process.   • MPCEA (Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, English, and Aptitude) - Aspirants appearing for MPCEA in VITEEE are eligible for all the B.Tech. Degree programmes.
  • BPCEA (Biology, Physics, Chemistry, English, and Aptitude)- Aspirants appearing for BPCEA in VITEEE are eligible only for B.Tech and Bio-stream Degree programmes mentioned below.

Expected Cut-off

VIT University uses an averaging methodology to calculate marks obtained by applicants. 

Applicants scoring 118 and above will be considered between the 1 and 250 rank range. Applicants with less than 31 marks will be ranked around 20,000 or below. Only the first 20,000 rank holders will be invited for counselling Phase-1.

These are the steps to check the VITEEE result 2022:

  • 1st Step: Visit the official website of VIT University.
  • 2nd Step: There is a result link on the right-hand corner of the page. Click on the link and that will directly take candidates to the results portal.
  • 3rd Step: Enter the application number and password.
  • 4th Step: Click on ‘Submit’.
  • 5th Step: Do not skip filling out the verification code.
  • 6th Step: Now they will be able to check their VITEEE results.
  • 7th Step: Download their result.

VITEEE Exam Counselling

The candidates who qualify based on their rank obtained for the VITEEE 2022 exam will be able to participate in the VITEEE counselling. The counselling will be based on the rank of the candidates and their preference of campus/programme. The major courses that the students can take after clearing VITEEE are B.Tech, B.Des, and Fashion Technology. Candidates can register for the counselling and complete the document verification process to be able to lock their choices. On completing the counselling round, candidates are allotted seats for admission to one of the VIT campuses.

1st Step: Check the VITEEE rank

2nd Step: Registration
