The organic compound (B) can be obtained on the reaction of methyl magnesium chloride with dry ice followed by acid hydrolysis. Give any one method by which organic compound B can be prepared from its corresponding acid chloride.

A sample of benzaldehyde contains a small amount of water insoluble alcohol. Explain the steps involved in a chemical method to obtain pure benzaldehyde from the mixture.

An organic compound having molecular formula, ${\mathrm{C}}_6{\mathrm{H}}_{12}\mathrm{O}$ does not reduce Tollen reagent, but gives a crystalline derivative with 2,4-dinitrophenyl hydrazine. It also  gives iodoform test and produces 2-methyl pentane on clemmenson's reduction. Assign a structural formula to the organic compound.
