Similarly, if a straight line is parallel and left of $y -$ axis at a distance $b$ , then the equation of the line is $x = - b$ .

Here, the lines we have are red, green, purple parallel to $y -$ axis and yellow, green violate parallel to $x -$ axis.

The red line is parallel and left to $y -$ axis at a distance $4$ units, so the equation of red line is $x = - 4$ .
