The moving air is called wind. The wind is the natural movement of air or other gases relative to a planet's surface. An instrument which tells us the direction of the wind is called a wind vane. The front part of the wind vane always points towards the direction of the wind. A wind vane is an instrument used for showing the direction of the wind. A wind vane spins and points in the direction from which the wind is coming. For example, if the wind is flowing from the east, the arrow will point to the east.
