Constructing a Copy of an Angle of Unknown Measure

Draw an angle of $70°$. Make a copy of it using only a straight edge and compasses.

Step-1: Draw an angle of $80°$ with the help of protractor, i.e., $\angle POQ=80°$.

Step-2: Draw $\overrightarrow{AB}$.

Step-3: Place the compasses at $O$ and draw an arc to cut the rays of $\angle POQ$ at $L$ and $M$.  

Step-4: Use the same compasses setting to draw an arc with $A$ as centre, cutting $AB$ at $X$.

Step-5: Set your compasses setting to the length $OL$.

Step-6: With the same radius, place the compasses pointer at $X$ and draw an arc to cut the arc drawn earlier at $Y$.

Step-7: Join $BY$ and produce it to $C$. Thus, $\angle CAB=80°$.
