The irregular phenomenons occur over the places located far away from India which creates temporary changes in the long-term climatic pattern. Phenomena like ITCZ, Jet stream, Western Disturbances, and El -Nino have affected the Indian weather to a large extent.

ITCZ: It is the meeting place of trade winds from the south and north hemispheres. Due to the Coriolis force, this wind blows towards the Indian Subcontinent as Monsoon. It becomes constant over Ganga plains in July. Due to the low pressure developed over this region, winds generated over the oceans in the Southern Hemisphere blow towards this area cause rainfall in the few parts of North India.

Jet stream: It is a band of fast-moving wind over the southern slopes of the Himalayas during winter and summer. The wind speed of the jet stream varies from $200$ km and $400$ km per hour. This wind brings rain over the high altitudes.

Western disturbances: The fine weather conditions during winter, however, get disturbed by the inflow of depressions from the west and the North West. These low-pressure disturbances are also called the western disturbances. It causes light rain in the Northern Mountains. This causes unseasonable rain in Gujarat which may damage crops.

El-Nino: This phenomenon takes place infrequently on the Peruvian coast of South America. It affects the duration of the monsoon and the amount of rainfall received in India.
