Ozone is an allotropic form of oxygen (O). It protects us from harmful UV rays coming from the sunlight. The chemicals leading to the ozone depletion is chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs).

Flyash is an industrial waste which is produced by coal-fired electric and steam generating industries. It causes air pollution.

(iii) - (b)

The waste which is degraded by the use of microbes into small substances is called biodegradable wastes. The cow dung is an example of biodegradable waste.

(iv) - (a)

Global warming is a gradual increase in the temperature of the surface of the earth. It is caused due to the greenhouse effect. The gases responsible for the greenhouse effect are carbon dioxide (CO₂) and methane (CH₄).

(v) - (d)

Due to increasing emission of sulphur dioxide, it mixes with the air and reacts with water and raindrops falling on the earth as rain. This is acid rain. It affects the lungs causing respiratory problems heart diseases among humans.

(vi) - (c)

Radiation is a form of energy which consist of high energy particles. Overexposure to the radiation causes variations at the gene level, damaged chromosomes, etc. One of the examples of nuclear radiation pollutant is iodine - 131. These pollutants are even leaked into the sea causing water pollution.
