The human ear is one of the sense organs in our body. The sound waves cause the eardrum or tympanic membrane to vibrate, which sets the three tiny bones in the middle ear into motion. Stapes transmits the vibration to the membrane of oval window and then to cochlea in the inner ear. The cochlea has fluid which is also vibrated and then the hair-like projection in it is also vibrated. This vibration is transmitted to the brain by the auditory nerve or cochlear nerve.
