Mira Behn described the precise state of the environment during India's formative years. She was capable enough to sense the complexities associated with the over-exploitation of nature. Nature has enough to satisfy the needs of the people but not their greed. On the one hand, science and machinery have improved people's lives and played a key role in the growth of the Indian economy, but on the other hand, they have created a slew of problems that are still being addressed at the global level. Examples of this are pollution, global warming, deforestation, ozone layer depletion, soil erosion, and so on. Industrial pollution and deforestation are posing a major threat to the environment.

Industrial pollution will not only degrade air quality but also deplete the soil and contaminate water, creating an imbalance for terrestrial and marine life. Air Pollution is also responsible for various respiratory diseases such as asthma, cancer, and other health issues.

Deforestation has imposed a major threat to the environment. Forests are considered the lungs of our planet, and they are being brutally cleared for industrial growth, urbanization, and mining activities. They are also cleared for commercial and extensive farming. It is the major cause of global warming as the difference between the energy absorbed by the Earth and that radiated from the Earth is very high due to the loss of green cover, which uses Carbon dioxide in the process of photosynthesis and thereby liberating water and oxygen as the by-products of the process. As a result, the Earth absorbs all the heat energy and raises the global temperature.

Therefore, it is the need of the hour to practice the conservation of natural resources to preserve our natural resources for future use. Hence, we should use our resources judiciously and wisely.
