From the table given in the question, we can find that the scientific name of the tiger is Panthera tigris , and that of the lion is Panthera leo . Both these animals belong to the same genus Panthera, and only the species are different. The lions are tigers are very similar, but they cannot interbreed to produce fertile young ones. We know as we come down the levels of classification from the kingdoms to the species, the similarities between organisms classified at each level increase. The other three organisms belong to different genus and species, and thus their similarities with the tiger will be less compared to the similarities shared with the lion.
