\n(ii) Oesophagus: Wall of oesophagus contracts and transports food from mouth to stomach. \n(iii) Stomach: It is a big muscular bag which secretes digestive juice. Hydrochloric acid in digestive juice kills germs and enzyme pepsin breaks protein to amino acids. In stomach food get converted into a semi-fluid, chyme.

(iv) Liver: The largest gland in the body is called the liver. The liver is split into the left and right lobes. The liver produces bile, which is temporarily stored in the gall bladder. The bile juice is secreted into the duodenum of the small intestine through the bile duct. The bile juice helps in the emulsification and absorption of the fat present in the food.

(v)Pancreas: The pancreas secretes pancreatic juice (pancreatic amylase, pancreatic lipase) and pours it into the small intestine for the digestion of carbohydrates into sugars, proteins into amino acids and fats into fatty acid and glycerol.

(vi) Small intestine: Secretions from liver and pancreas act on the food in small intestine. Bile helps in breaking large fat molecules into tiny droplets. Pancreatic juice helps in digestion of starch and protein. Intestinal juice acts on starch, protein and fat and completes the digestion. Villi in small intestine absorb these digested nutrients into the blood vessels.

(vii) Large intestine: It has two parts-colon and rectum. Colon absorbs water and some salts from the undigested food. The remaining semi-solid waste i.e. faeces is egested through the anus.
