Why did the characteristic of the Rounded-Yellow seeds alone appear in F 1 generation but not the characteristic of the wrinkled-green seeds?

Mendel has chosen pea plant which consists of seven characters with two varieties. When Mendel cross the two plant considering the one pair of contrasting character, only one character appears in the hybrid first filial generation. The character which appears is dominant. Similarly, when the two pea plants with contrasting seed shape and colour are cross together, only rounded-yellow seeds appear in first generation, therefore round shape and yellow colour is dominant and wrinkled and green seeds are recessive character which appear in the second generation.
