Give the Provisions that ensure the independence of the Judiciary in the Indian constitution?

The Indian judiciary is one of the most powerful judicial systems in the world. One main reason for this power is its ability to act independently without the intervention of neither the legislature nor the executive. Several constitutional provisions promote the independence of the Indian judiciary; they are as follows:

(i) The president has to consult the chief justice of India before the appointment of supreme court judges. Thus, making the appointments non-political.

(ii) The judges of a supreme court can only be removed by the order of the president after an address in the joint session of both houses of the parliament. Such an order can only be passed after the successful passing of the impeachment bill, which requires the special majority in both the houses of the parliament.

(iii) The salaries and conditions of service of a judge cannot be modified during his term in the office.

(iv) The expenses of judicial administration are charged upon the revenues of India and cannot be discussed in the parliament.
