Compare the mansabdari system with the situation under Firoz Shah Tughluq. Which one, in your opinion, was a better system and why?

The Iqta system was better because Firoz Shah Tughluq wanted the support of the nobles and the ulema so that they would allow him to rule peacefully. Thus, he gave them bigger iqtas, which were made hereditary. So, upon the death of a noble, his iqta would pass on to his son. To please the ulema, he ruled according to Islamic laws. As a result, the nobles and the ulema grew very powerful and began to influence the sultan in day-to-day administration.

And in the Mansabdari system, the mansabdars could be promoted, demoted or transferred according to the wishes of the emperor. Their rank was also not hereditary. When a mansabdar died, his jagir was taken away and given to someone else.
