The front part of the fish curves to one side and the tail part swings to the opposite side to form a curve. Then, the body and the tail curve to the other side quickly. This forces the water backwards and pushes the fish forward.

Then, the bristles under the front part fix the front end and the rear end moves with the help of muscles. Their body secretes a slimy substance that helps for their movement.
