Jains have the highest literacy rate and Muslims have the lowest literacy rate.

The percentage of public employment amongst Muslims is quite low. In States PSUs (Public Sector Undertakings), the representation of Muslims is better. Their percentage in services like IAS, IPS, IFS, Banks, and RBI is lower.

Special measures are required to address this situation, awareness drives have to be undertaken by the Government for the Muslim community regarding the importance of education and literacy, and they should be motivated to send their children to schools.
