We know that, The intersection of sets A and B is the set of all elements which are common to both A and B . The symbol ' ∩ ' is used to represent intersection. So, A ∩ B = x : x ∈ A and x ∈ B Let the sets: A = 1 , 2 , 3 and B = 2 , 3 , 4 , 5 The intersection of two sets is a set of common elements of both sets. A ∩ B = 2 , 3 Then, A ∩ B - A = 2 , 3 - 1 , 2 , 3 A ∩ B - A = = ϕ Therefore, A ∩ B - A = ϕ . Hence, the given is a null set.
