1-(e) In the shoulder region, there is a pectoral girdle, which is made of shoulder bone and collar bone. The shoulder girdle supports the bones of the arm. The collar bone is a delicate bone. 2-(f) Forearm comprises humerus, radius and ulna. The humerus is present in the upper arm and radio-ulna is present in the lower arm. Head of the humerus articulates with the shoulder bone. 3-(d) The hinge joint is present in the knee region, elbow, finger joints. This joint resembles hinges. It can bear heavy loads. 4-(c) In the hip and shoulder region, ball and socket joint are present. In this type of joint, ball-like end of one bone fits into the socket like the end of another bone. This joint can stretch, fold, and show some rotation movement. 5-(a) Appendicular skeleton comprises girdles and limbs. Pelvic and pectoral girdles are present. Hip girdle is also called the pelvic girdle. It supports the bones of the legs. It bears the weight of the body. 6-(b) In lower limb there present femur (the longest and strongest bone), tibia and fibula. The femur is present in the upper part of the leg and tibia-fibula is present in the lower part of the lower limb. 7-(h) Gliding joint is present in the ankle and wrist. It gives limited movement. It is present between the tarsal bones in the ankles and carpal bones in the wrist. 8-(g) Neck provides movement side to side due to the presence of the pivot joint. This joint is present between atlas, the first cervical vertebrae and axis, the second cervical vertebrae of the vertebral column. 9-(j) Our external ear called pinna is made up of cartilage. This is a connective tissue but softer than the bone. It covers the end of bones to provide frictionless movement between bones in the joints. 10-(k) 12 pairs of ribs attach to the vertebral column and sternum forms ribcage. This protects our vital organs like the heart and lungs, etc. 11-(j) Invertebrates are the organisms which do not have a backbone or vertebral column.
