The oviduct, commonly known as the fallopian tube, is the organ that allows the ova to pass through. The oviduct transports the mature egg produced by the ovary to the uterus. It is separated into three parts: the infundibulum, the ampulla, and the isthmus.

The zygote formed inside the fallopian tube continues to divide as it travels to the uterus. At this stage, it develops into an embryo that connects to the uterine wall. This is referred to as implantation. This happens during the Blastocyst stage, around a week after ovulation.
