a. Test tube A has the most carbon dioxide as it contains only the fish. The fish take in the oxygen present in the water and release carbon dioxide during breathing. In test tube C, the carbon dioxide released by the fish will e absorbed by the plants to make their food. In test-tube B all the carbon dioxide will be absorbed by the plants. Hence, test tube A has the most carbon dioxide after three hours. b. The fish may die if it is kept in the dark for three days. Test tube C contains plants and fish. Plants cannot make their food in the dark due to the lack of sunlight. So, plants do not absorb carbon dioxide released by the fish and release oxygen, hence the amount of carbon dioxide will be more. The amount of oxygen will also be less, this leads to an unfavourable condition for a fish to live.
