Progress in applied fields like agriculture, horticulture, floriculture, etc. Example: In Agriculture, it is possible through experiments in hybridisation and genetic engineering to develop new hybrid varieties for various needs. The modern technique of plant breeding gives benefits to the farmers.

Plant physiology is the science of Botany that is helpful in studying different biophysical and metabolic activities of plants. Knowledge of plant physiology helps us in understanding the role of different mineral nutrients.

Knowledge gained through various researches in phytopathology helps in the prevention and eradication of several plant tissues.
