The factors affecting the location of industrial regions vary greatly and this leads to the uneven distribution of industries across each continent. Due to a number of favourable characteristics, industries tend to concentrate on a few areas. Industrial regions are defined as areas with a high concentration of industries. North America: The growth of the Appalachian region as an industrial sector is due to its availability of coal and iron. This region also produces a wide range of products, including metalworks, chemicals and machines. South America: Brazil is a global mining, agribusiness, and manufacturing powerhouse with a thriving and quickly expanding service industry. It is a major producer of a variety of minerals, including iron ore, tin, gold, quartz, diamonds as well as steel and electronics. Africa: Morocco is rich in resources that can be exploited. Morocco's agricultural potential is unrivalled by any other Arab or African country, thanks to its mild Mediterranean environment. Morocco's economy is still strongly reliant on raw resource exports. Europe: Ukraine is also a significant industrial centre, with a diverse range of products. Factories may be located in all parts of the country, with the largest concentrations on the west of the city centre and the Dnieper's left bank. Asia: Iron ore, coal, manganese bauxite, and lime are abundant in the districts surrounding the regions near Kolkata. Iron and steel, cement, and various small and medium scale industries revolving around these items are the key industries in this contemporary, industrial metropolis. Australia : SE Australian region has an abundance of minerals and natural resources. Much of the raw material mined in Australia is shipped overseas to be processed into refined products in places like China.
