State the coordinates of the points $P$ and $Q$ .

We know that the coordinate of a point $A$ is given by $A (h, k)$ , where $h$ is the $x$ -coordinate or abscissa and $k$ is the $y$ -coordinate or ordinate.

From the graph, we observe that the point $P$ is located $3$ units towards the right from the origin along the $x$ -axis (hence, the $x$ -coordinate is $3$ ) and then, $1$ unit upwards parallel to the $y$ -axis (hence, the $y$ -coordinate is $1$ ).

So, the coordinate of the point $P$ is $(3, 1)$ .

Again, we observe that the point $Q$ is located $2$ units towards the left from the origin along the $x$ -axis (hence, the $x$ -coordinate is $- 2$ ) and then, $1$ unit downwards parallel to the $y$ -axis (hence, the $y$ -coordinate is $- 1$ ).

So, the coordinate of the point $Q$ is $(- 2, - 1)$ .

Therefore, the coordinates of the points $P$ and $Q$ are $(3, 1)$ and $(- 2, - 1)$ , respectively.
