Herbivores are animals that eat only plants. They have sharp cutting teeth in front and flat grinding teeth at the back. Goat and cow are examples of herbivores. Animals that hunt smaller animals and eat their flesh are called flesh eaters. These animals are called carnivores. Lions and tigers are carnivore animals. Some animals eat both plants and flesh of the other animals. These animals are called omnivores. Fox and crows are omnivore animals. Carnivores that feed on dead animals are called scavengers. They help in keeping the jungle or forests clean by eating up the dead animals. Vultures, hyenas are scavengers. Animals that eat both plant and flesh of other animals are called omnivores. Example: Human beings, dogs, cats etc. They have sharp and flat incisor teeth for biting food. They have flat and broad premolar and molar teeth for grinding food.

Scavengers are animals that feed on the dead and decaying animals. Vultures and hyenas are scavengers. They play a very important role in maintaining the balance in the ecosystem.
