The male reproductive system consists of the following parts:

a. Testes: A pair of lobed elongated testes that lie on the lateral sides of the 4th to 6th abdominal segments in a male cockroach.

b. Vas deferens: A duct called vas deferens arise from the posterior end of the testes and open together in a wide median duct.

c. Ductus ejaculatoris: It is present in the seventh segment and receives the vasa deferentia of each testis. It opens into the male genital pore.

d. Mushroom glands: The mushroom-shaped glands in the cockroach are the accessory reproductive glands that are present in the 6th and 7th abdominal segments. The secretion of these glands nourishes the sperms, and it also forms a part of the wall (inner layer) of the spermatophore.

e. Seminal vesicles: These are present on the ventral surface of the ejaculatory duct and serve to store the sperms in form of their bundles called spermatophores.

f. Phallic glands: These glands also called the conglobate glands open near the male genital pore.

g. Gonapophyses: Phallomeres or Gonapophyses are the chitinous asymmetrical structures present near the genital opening of the male cockroach. These are also called phallic organs. They act as the male external genitalia and their major role is to help in copulation.
