In the second part of the experiment, 4 to 5 leaves of the same plant were covered with black paper without removing them from the plant. The way the black paper was cut and fixed to the leaves is shown in the figure. These leaves were plucked two days later. Their green colour was removed and they were dipped in iodine solution. The leaves turned black in the pattern shown in the figure.
