Temperature plays a major role in changing the state of a substance. For example, when liquid is heated at a high temperature, the kinetic energy of the molecules increases, and it will get converted into its gaseous state (vapours). This process is known as evaporation. Similarly, when high pressure is applied to a liquid, the intermolecular space between the molecules decreases, and as a result, it will get converted into its solid state.

Both effects are not similar as increase in temperature caused a state change from liquid to gas and an increase in pressure caused a state change from liquid to solid. This is because, when temperature is increased, the intermolecular space between them increases. Similarly, when pressure is increased, the space between the molecules decreases.
