
In the following question, a sentence is given in Passive voice. Below it are four alternatives suggesting the Active voice form of the above sentence. Choose the correct alternative.

1. Active Voice
i. Voice of a sentence that describes the doer or the subject of an action performing the said action.
ii. E.g. I am going to write the exam.
2. Passive Voice
i. When the action described by the verb is received by the subject, and the focus is on the action and not on the doer of the action.
ii. E.g. The exam was written by him.
3. When the sentence is in the active voice, and in the form Subject + Verb + Object, then to convert it to passive voice, change to Object + auxiliary verb past participle + by subject.
i. E.g. He cooked the rice. → The rice was cooked by him.
4. When the sentence is in the form Subject + is/am/are + Verb -ing + Object, then to convert it to passive voice, change to Object + is/am/are + being+ past participle of Verb + Subject / Objective pronoun
i. E.g., Raju is drawing a picture → The picture is being drawn by Raju.
5. Words like ‘sing’, ‘speak’ etc. converts to ‘sung’, ‘spoken’ etc.
6. Modals are applied in both the forms, with ‘be’ mostly following the modal in the passive voice.
i. E.g., I can sing that song → That song can be sung by me.
7. An imperative sentence is a type of sentence that gives instructions or advice and expresses a command, an order, a direction, or a request.
i. The object ‘you’ is generally ignored in the passive voice since it is implicit.
ii. We add the word ‘let’ in the passive voice.
iii. E.g., Shut the door → Let the door be shut
