1. Concept of Carry:
(i) Addition of numbers can be done with carrying over.
(ii) Steps of addition:
(a) Arrange the numbers in vertical manner as per the place value chart.
(b) Add the digits in each column starting from the ones place.
(c) When the sum of digits in the same column is more than , carry over the digit in tens place of the sum to the next higher place value colum and write the digit in ones place of the sum in the same column.
