1. After the Mauryan empire, the next empire that consolidated its power was the Gupta empire. 1. Society

Regarding culture, this age was the golden age. The temple architecture styles called Nagara style, Dravidian style, Vesara style came into existence. Cave paintings were also done in Ajanta, Ellora, and Bagh.
