To compare rational numbers we shall express the numbers with the common denominator (equal to their LCM) and compare the numerators. The rational number with a smaller numerator is smaller.

The $LCM$ of the denominators of $5, 30, 15$ and $10$ is $30$ .

We shall convert each rational number to an equivalent rational number with denominator $30$ .

Hence, $\frac{3}{5} = \frac{3 \times 6}{5 \times 6} = \frac{18}{30}$

$\frac{- 17}{- 30} = \frac{- 17 \times (- 1)}{- 30 \times (- 1)} = \frac{17}{30}$

$\frac{8}{- 15} = \frac{8 \times (- 2)}{- 15 \times (- 2)} = \frac{- 16}{30}$

$\frac{- 7}{10} = \frac{- 7 \times 3}{10 \times 3} = \frac{- 21}{30}$

Arranging the rational numbers in ascending order means arranging from the smallest number to the highest number.

Comparing the numerators, we obtain, $- 21 < - 16 < 17 < 18$ .
So, we have, $\frac{- 21}{30} < \frac{- 16}{30} < \frac{17}{30} < \frac{18}{30}$ .

Hence, the given rational numbers in the ascending order are $\frac{- 7}{10}, \frac{8}{- 15}, \frac{- 17}{- 30}$ and $\frac{3}{5}$ .
