He made his own set of Dhammas or set of principles to follow.

These dhammas promoted and propagated certain values in society to bring harmony, love, truth, non-violence, care, and kindness towards others.

The first principle was to respect the elders, Ashoka says that everyone should be thankful and concern about parents and teachers.

The second is to give proper treatment to the needy, that is why he opened schools for them.

He also teaches a major part of life to be truthful, honest, and always follow non-violence.

He asks people to do something good for others without expecting anything in return.

His principles and teachings spread globally through the inscriptions and edicts found on engraved on caves, rocks, and stones.
