At the starting of the year two friend Ajoy and Aftab starts a joint business with capital

Rs . 20000

and

Rs . 25000

.After some months Ajoy invests

Rs . 10000

more in the business. At end of the year they make a profit of

Rs . 3100

and Ajoy gets

Rs . 1600

as profit. After how many months of starting the business Ajoy invests the capital of

Rs . 10000

Given That,

The ratio of Ajoy and Aftab = $20000 : 25000$

$∴$ Given total Profit = $Rs . 3100$

According to question, In one year $Rs . 20000$ of Ajoy invested for $12$ months and $Rs . 25000$ of Aftab invested for $12$ months.

Let, Ajoy invested the capital of $Rs . 10000$ for $x$ months.

Hence, the total investment of Ajoy and Aftab are in the Ratio = $(20000 \times 12 + x \times 10000) : (25000 \times 12)$

$= \frac{240 + 10 x}{300} = \frac{1600}{1500}$

On solving the Above Statement,

$\Rightarrow 15 \times (240 + 10 x) = 16 \times 300$

$\Rightarrow 15 \times (240 + 10 x) = 4800$

$\Rightarrow 240 + 10 x = \frac{4800}{15}$

$\Rightarrow 240 + 10 x = 320$

$\Rightarrow 10 x = 320 - 240$

$\Rightarrow 10 x = 80$

$\Rightarrow x = 8$

So, by the problem Ajoy and Aftab invested the capital for $12$ months, then we get.

$\Rightarrow 12 - 8 = 4 months$ .

Hence, this is the required answer.
