Place a table near a wall, and put a burning candle on it. Now take a piece of cardboard. Make a small hole in the middle of it with the help of a small narrow nail. Switch off the light to make the room dark. Hold the cardboard in between the candle and the wall in such a way that the hole in the board and the flame of the candle lie on the same straight line.
Now, look at the wall before you. What do you observe? How does the inverted optical impression of the flame form on the wall?
