Thomson proposed a plum pudding model of an atom. On the basis of $α$ -particle scattering experiment, Rutherford proposed the nuclear atomic model. The Bohr Model is a planetary model in which the negatively charged electrons orbit a small, positively charged nucleus.

According to this model, an atom is a spherical particle having a radius of $10^{- 8} cm$ and positively charged particles that are spread over the atom, and negatively charged particles are embedded in the positively charged bed. Just like the plum pudding.
According to Rutherford's nuclear model of an atom, electrons are revolving around the positive centre called the nucleus. The nucleus and electrons are held together by coulombic force of attraction.

According to Bohr's atomic model, Electrons revolve around the nucleus in a circular path in an atom called orbit and these orbits differ from each other in their radii. Each such orbit has definite energy called energy level or energy shells. These energy shells are numbered as $1, 2, 3, 4 . . . . or K, L, M, N . . . .$ shells starting from the nucleus.
