Body cavity: Cavity between the body and internal organs is called as body cavity/coelom. A true coelom is lined by mesoderm.

Germ layer: In case of multicellular animals, germ layers (endoderm, mesoderm and ectoderm) are formed in the embryo, Those who possess three germ layers are called triploblastic and those who lack the mesoderm are called diploblastic.

Phylum Porifera: The body cavity is absent, hence are called acoelomate.

Phylum Platyhelminthes: They are acoelomates and triploblastic.

Phylum Aschelminthes: Body cavity is present but is not lined by mesoderm, hence are called pseudocoelomates. They have three germ layers.

Phylum Arthropoda: True coelom (Body cavity) is present, thus are called eucoelomates. Arthropods are also triploblastic.
