The table describes the characteristics of all the five kingdoms:
Kingdom Monera includes unicellular, prokaryotic organisms, which consist of cell walls made up of peptidoglycan layers. They do not have nuclear membranes and have both autotrophic and heterotrophic mode of nutrition. They perform decomposition in an ecosystem, hence are called decomposers.

Kingdom Protista includes unicellular and eukaryotic organisms. Some organisms consist of cell walls, but most organisms have nuclear membranes. Some have autotrophic, and some have heterotrophic mode of nutrition. Hence, this Kingdom consists of both producers and consumers.

Kingdom Fungi consists of both unicellular and multicellular eukaryotic organisms, which have a saprophytic mode of nutrition. They have chitin and glucan in their cell walls. They feed on dead and decaying matters, hence are called decomposers.

Kingdom Plantae consists of only multicellular, eukaryotic organisms. They consist of cell walls, which are made up of cellulose. They have a well-defined nucleus and can synthesise their food through the process of photosynthesis. Hence, they are called autotrophs and producers.

Kingdom Animalia consists of multicellular, eukaryotic organisms and all organisms have of a well-developed nuclear membrane. They have tissue and organ system level of organisation. They depend on producers and other consumers for food, hence are called heterotrophs and consumers.
