Given: $OD = 6 cm, AR = 8 cm$ .
Steps of construction:

Draw a line $RA = 8 cm$ using a ruler on a sheet of paper.

Draw perpendicular bisector $XY$ of $AC$ . For this, keep one end of the compass at $R$ and draw an arc or circle of radius, say, $4.5 cm$ above as well as below the line $RA$ .

Similarly, taking $A$ as centre draw an arc or circle above and below the line $R A$ intersecting the previous arc at $X$ and $Y$ .

Join $X Y$ cutting the line $R A$ at $O^{'}$ . $X Y$ is the perpendicular bisector of the line $R A$ .

From $O^{'}$ extend the line to $O^{'} D$ on line $O^{'} X$ , where $O^{'} D = 3 c m$ (half of $6 c m$ ) using a ruler.

Similarly, from O’ extend the line to $O^{'} O$ on line $O^{'} Y$ , where $O^{'} O = 3 c m$ (half of $6 c m$ ).

Join $R O, O A, A D$ and $D R$ .

Construct rhombus $ROAD$ , where $RA = 8 cm$ and $OD=6 cm$ .
