The fixed temperature at which a solid change into liquid state is known as the melting point. The fixed temperature at which a liquid state change into a gaseous state, is known as the boiling point. Hence at 50 ° C , A will be in solid state as its melting point is greater than 50 ° C while B will be in a liquid state as its melting point is less than 50 ° C and boiling point is more than 50 ° C . The substance C will be in a gaseous state as its boiling point is less than 50 ° C .
